What open source gets you
You can inspect what the agent does with your code and data, run it on your own machine or server, point it at any model (including local ones) and keep using it if the company behind it changes direction. That last point is not theoretical: several agents on this site were discontinued, acquired or archived within the past year.
What it does not get you
Open source is not the same as free to run. The agent still calls a language model, and you pay for that through an API key unless you run a local model. Check the licence column too: some projects are "source-available" under licences that restrict commercial hosting, and those are not counted as open source here.
