Ranks are overall positions by Pulse Score. Click a column to sort by what matters to you. Methodology.
Three kinds of product
- AI browsers are full browsers with an assistant that can act on the pages you have open.
- Browser extensions and hosted agents drive a browser session for you to complete a task.
- Automation libraries let developers build their own browser agents, usually on top of Playwright.
What to compare
- Reliability on real sites. Logins, pop-ups and anti-bot checks stop many agents; independent benchmarks are still immature, so test on the sites you care about.
- Security. A browser agent reads untrusted web pages, which can contain instructions aimed at it (prompt injection). Check what the product does to limit that and which actions need your approval.
- Where the browser runs. Locally with your own sessions, or in a remote browser the vendor hosts.

An AI browser is the application you browse with, with an assistant built in. A browser agent is software that controls a browser to complete a task, and it may run inside an AI browser, as an extension, or as a library in your own code.
