- Add an optional Review SKILL.md button beside the skill install/export actions. Open a read-only modal to inspect the complete file, including frontmatter and substituted values, before placing it.
- Keep the existing direct Add to Scout and export flow unchanged for users who do not want to review the file.
- Install or export the exact previewed text without another model turn. Closing and reopening the modal reuses the prepared file; editing the plan invalidates it.
- Keep modal and main-screen progress, errors and completion synchronized. Installing from the modal closes it and shows the same completed state as installing from the main interface.
- Support export-only skill destinations, accessible keyboard navigation, long scrollable files, retry after a canceled export, and explicit recovery from expired previews.
- Handle cancellation and late responses without reviving stale previews or hiding a successfully completed installation.

What changed: recent Skill Recorder releases
13 stable releases in the last 90 days · Full changelog
- Fix Microsoft enterprise sign-in so it completes SSO first, then opens GitHub Copilot app authorization in the same default browser, without a device code. Keep the same browser profile to reuse…
- Make both browser handoffs explicit: after SSO reaches the Microsoft enterprise page, close that tab, return to Skill Recorder and choose Authorize Copilot. After authorization, return to Skill…
- Pin the bundled GitHub Copilot CLI to reviewed version 1.0.78, which supports browser OAuth for desktop subprocesses without a terminal. The previously bundled 1.0.71 does not support --web-flow.
- Run sign-in with --no-auto-update login --web-flow so the user's cached auto-updated CLI cannot change this behavior. Personal sign-in also uses browser authorization without device codes.
- Improve error guidance when the CLI does not support browser authorization or cannot save credentials securely. CLI output, tokens and authorization URLs are not exposed in app diagnostics.
- Preserve cancellation, fresh authentication verification and the once-only retry of an interrupted analysis.
Earlier releases
- Fix fresh Windows dependency installation using the bundled portable npm, including configuration detection when no global npm is installed.
- Preserve explicit npm settings. After a recognized public-registry network or TLS access failure, Windows retries dependency installation exactly once through an approved Microsoft registry only…
- Leave configured registries, successful public-registry installations, other-company devices, and unrelated failures unchanged.
- Share the bounded, sanitized tenant-hint probe with the app and improve error guidance to use bundled npm.
- Update the package version to 0.6.1 without dependency updates.
- TLS verification, lockfile integrity, dependency lifecycle-script policy, and compliance checks remain enforced. The device/account hint is a routing hint, not authorization or proof of employment.
- Adds an optional, session-scoped recorded terminal. Commands, working directories, exit status, timing, and output from that app-owned terminal can inform analysis and skill generation; existing…
- Offers Microsoft Enterprise SSO or a personal GitHub account when Windows device/account metadata provides a Microsoft Entra tenant hint. This is a routing hint, not proof of employment. Without a…
- Uses browser-based Copilot login without opening a lingering black terminal window. The Microsoft option opens enterprise SSO first, then asks the user to continue to Copilot authorization in the…
- Automatically retries the interrupted signed-out analysis once after the CLI finishes login and a fresh SDK client verifies authentication. Cancellation and navigation prevent stale retries;…
- Removes the legacy FFmpeg frame-extraction fallback.
- Includes the merged fast-uri 3.1.5 and js-yaml 4.3.1 dependency updates and preserves the GitHub Actions commit-SHA pins from main.
- Adds a persisted screen selector so recordings can target a specific display.
- Resolves displays through stable identity when Electron reassigns source IDs, shows monitor model labels, and falls back safely when a selected display is disconnected.
- Keeps the recorder controls at a stable width while their height is fitted automatically.
- Upgrades Archiver to 8 and refreshes transitive dependencies.
- Clarifies that transitive deprecation notices shown during source installation do not by themselves indicate an installation failure.
- The dependency refresh preserves the exact-version lifecycle-script allowlist and canonical registry.npmjs.org lockfile URLs.
- Fixes source installs failing with ERRSSLSSL/TLSALERTHANDSHAKEFAILURE on machines whose npm registry is configured globally, such as corporate-managed devices behind a proxy. The installers…
- Both installers now point the portable runtime at the machine's existing npm configuration, so a configured mirror is discovered automatically.
- npm ci failures now report which registry was actually contacted and how to configure a mirror.
- INSTALL.md documents the behaviour in a new "Networks that block registry.npmjs.org" section.
- The installers discover the registry configured on the machine; they never pin, override, or dictate one. A regression test enforces this.
- The lockfile's resolved URLs remain canonical registry.npmjs.org URLs, and its integrity hashes are verified whichever registry serves the packages, so a mirror cannot substitute different content.

How fresh these numbers are

We fetch every source once a day. Registries publish downloads and page views a day or two late, so their latest reading trails the check. A reading more than 4 days old is marked out of date; the Gid Score still uses it until a newer one arrives.
