Run Claude Code and Codex agents in parallel on Mac with Offrun
Offrun is a free Mac app that runs coding agent CLIs such as Claude Code and Codex side by side, each in its own git worktree, using the user's own logins. The page is the product's marketing site and describes parallel work, peer review and account switching on usage limits.
The problem
Developers who use several coding agents on one repository risk the agents editing the same files. They also have to deal with usage limits on a single login and lose context when switching tools. Reviewing agent output usually means separate tools or a bot on pull requests.
How they did it
- Install Offrun and drag it to Applications.
- In Settings, then Agents, connect your coding harness accounts and optionally add a second account per agent.
- Start an agent by picking a project and giving it a task; each agent gets its own git worktree and branch.
- Choose a reviewer from your own agent accounts to read the uncommitted diff and post findings in the chat.
- When a login hits its usage limit, resend your message so the next login or another agent continues the conversation.
Results
- As reported by the Offrun site: each agent in a project works in its own git worktree, so two agents on the same repo do not touch the same files.
- As reported by the Offrun site: a second agent can review a diff before commit, but cannot change code or merge anything on its own.
- As reported by the Offrun site: when a login hits its usage limit, the chat moves to a login with room left, or offers another agent that receives the whole conversation.
- As reported by the Offrun site: the app is free with no limits, and dictation is transcribed on-device.
As reported by the source (Offrun product website); AgentGid did not measure these figures.
Suits a solo developer or small team on a Mac who already pays for Claude Code or Codex and is comfortable with git worktrees and branches. Offrun is free, but the agents behind it are not: Claude Code needs a paid plan from $20/mo, and the no-limits and review claims come from Offrun's own site. OpenCode (Free + $10/mo) is a cheaper open-source agent to pair with it.
