Agent infrastructure · by Checksum Labs, Inc.
InstaVM
A cloud service that starts isolated Linux microVMs for AI agents to run code in, with snapshots, clones, persistent volumes, egress rules, secret injection, public port shares and a browser desktop, driven from a CLI, SSH, Python or TypeScript.
Your agent can run untrusted or generated code in its own VM with its own kernel, so a bad script or a prompt injection never touches your machine or your API keys.

For your agent
- pip install instavm (Python SDK + instavm CLI) or npm i instavm; set INSTAVM_API_KEY; raw HTTP uses the X-API-Key header; agents can add the skill with npx skills add https://github.com/instavm/skills --skill use-instavm; ssh instavm.dev works without installing anything
- Keep the API key server-side; inject other secrets through InstaVM's proxy, not into the VM
- Free plan egress is limited to known package managers and AI APIs; allowlists need Pro
- InstaVM may keep code and execution logs for up to one year; do not run data you cannot share with them

What you can build
- A code-interpreter tool for your chatbot that runs each user's Python in a fresh VM and returns the output
- An eval harness that snapshots a prepared VM and clones it to run many agent attempts in parallel
- A preview service that deploys an agent-built web app in a VM and shares the port as a public URL
