Strands Agents 1.61.1 released
A patch release fixing issues with model reasoning, subagent reporting, context handling, and tool interactions.
What changed in 1.61.1
- Reasoning blocks are now dropped when rejected by target models across different model families in Bedrock.
- Subagents now report the child's actual stop reason instead of marking blocked runs as successful.
- Removal markers and summaries no longer appear in the first message of context.
- Adaptive thinking is sent to Claude Haiku 5.5 and tool results maintain proper adjacency with injected context.
- Text content blocks no longer silently drop when tool calls are pending in the same block.
