Worldometer
A reference site of world statistics (population, health, energy, environment and more) whose home page shows ticking counters that estimate those figures second by second.
Watching births, deaths and energy use tick upward in real time makes abstract global numbers feel concrete.

For your agent
No official API. An agent should not scrape the site: use it by hand.
- Live counters are model estimates, not measurements; for real data go to the named primary sources (UN Population Division, WHO, FAO, IMF, World Bank), which have open APIs.
- Present figures as estimates, never as live counts: the site builds them with its own algorithm from statistics and projections.
- Content is all rights reserved; no API and no scraping. Counters on other sites need a paid licence, which the FAQ says is not available right now.
- Cite primary sources for any number you publish.
Paste into your agent: Read https://agentgid.com/resources/worldometer/agent.md before using Worldometer.
What you can build
- A 'world right now' page that links to Worldometer for context but computes its own counters from UN WPP projections.
- A classroom explainer comparing Worldometer's estimate with the primary UN or World Bank figure it is based on.
