October 2026
13 releases: 0.1.0 → 0.2.4
October brought DS Bot from initial release to a mature team collaboration platform, adding desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux, browser automation, and major improvements to group chat workflows and memory management.
Highlights
- Desktop applications for Windows, macOS and Linux with self-contained data and auto-update functionality.
- Bots can now drive browsers with sign-ins and user approval for sensitive actions like payments.
- Group chats with asynchronous task handoffs between members, with progress visibility and work tracking.
- Memory system shared across Bot teams with automatic updates and topic organization.
- Side chat feature for asking follow-up questions while Bots continue their work.
New
- Long-lived Bot teams, each with their own name, role, model and instructions, running simultaneously.
- Group chats where Bots speak in turn, can be mentioned with @name, and handle work requests asynchronously.
- Browser automation with Playwright profiles per Bot, including sign-in persistence and approval gates for sensitive actions.
- Desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux with self-update and independent data storage.
- Side chat mode to ask follow-up questions without stopping a Bot's current work.
- Working folders allowing Bots to operate directly in chosen directories instead of team workspace.
- Bot-to-Bot messaging that reaches Bots at their next step rather than blocking on current work.
- MCP server and skill sharing across the team with capability packs and per-Bot access control.
Improved
- Group chat members now show progress as they work, with updates at meaningful milestones instead of silence until completion.
- Long conversations maintain context within model windows, with automatic summarization when limits are approached.
- Memory panel now retries on model refusal or output budget limits using the profile's default model.
- Handoff notes preserve translated headings in English instead of rewriting them.
- Model choices grouped by provider to distinguish models with identical names.
- Multi-step thinking shown as single row with all steps in order rather than separate rows per step.
- Usage page now counts subagent Session calls, previously skipped with warnings.
- Bot reasoning display shows last five lines with scrolling for longer chains of thought.
Fixed
- Tool calls written as text instead of proper format now trigger a single retry with the text preserved rather than stopping.
- Messages to Bots stuck on earlier work now show count of unread messages and wait status instead of repeated 'Delivered' messages.
- Group members who post after their round moved on are answered by the Bot that requested the work, not the admin.
- HTTP MCP capabilities with secrets now send actual secret values URL-encoded, not the reference itself.
- Switching from Bot mode to Agent mode no longer leaves interface remnants when closing fails.
- Interrupted memory saves are recovered with topic links and change history intact.
