MCP for Unity
MCP for Unity is an open-source bridge that lets AI assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Cline and Gemini CLI manage assets, control scenes, edit scripts and automate tasks in the Unity Editor. It is a Unity package (git URL or OpenUPM) plus a Python MCP server, and its README says it is sponsored and maintained by Aura.
Pricing: Free and open source (MIT).
Latest release 10.3.0:
- chore: sync main (v10.2.0) into beta
- perf(discovery): drop the redundant assembly walk from tool discovery too
- chore: update Unity package to beta version 10.2.1-beta.2
- fix: Claude Code registrations invisible to CheckStatus (duplicate path-variant keys, git worktrees)
Unity in-editor AI assistant
Unity's agentic assistant runs inside the Unity 6 Editor, inspects the scene, GameObjects and components, carries out Editor actions and checks that the changes work; it also includes asset generators that an organization can switch off. Unity is retiring the "Unity AI" brand name, the tools are in beta, and they are meant for Unity developers.
Pricing: Included in Pro, Enterprise and Industry subscriptions; Personal Edition users can start a free trial that converts to a $10/month subscription; assistant use consumes Unity credits (extra credits can be bought), and the AI gateway for verified third-party agents uses no Unity credits.
