# Space photo wallpapers from NASA's archive

An app or bot that finds NASA mission photos on a theme (Apollo, Mars, the Moon) and makes phone or desktop wallpapers with the caption.

## Parts

- Data: [NASA Image and Video Library](https://agentgid.com/resources/nasa-image-and-video-library/agent.md): NASA's searchable archive of mission photos, videos and audio, with a free JSON API that returns metadata and direct links to each file in several sizes.
- Data: [Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD)](https://agentgid.com/resources/apod/agent.md): A daily astronomy image or video with a short explanation by a professional astronomer, with a full archive back to 1995 and a JSON API.
- Crop to screen sizes: [sharp](https://agentgid.com/tools/sharp/agent.md)
- Daily pick: [node-cron](https://agentgid.com/tools/node-cron/agent.md)

## Steps

1. Search the NASA Image and Video Library API (no key) by keyword and media type image.
2. Open the asset list for an item and take the large or original file.
3. Crop to common screen sizes and keep NASA's caption and date.

## Watch out

- Credit NASA and never imply NASA endorses your app; skip items marked as third-party copyright.
