# A country dashboard from open statistics

A dashboard that compares countries on population, income, health and energy, built from World Bank indicators and Our World in Data charts.

## Parts

- Data: [World Bank Open Data](https://agentgid.com/resources/world-bank-open-data/agent.md): The World Bank's free portal for country-level development indicators, with a keyless API giving access to nearly 16,000 time series indicators.
- Data: [Our World in Data](https://agentgid.com/resources/our-world-in-data/agent.md): A research publication with over 14,000 interactive charts on health, population, energy, climate, poverty and more, each with downloadable data.
- Data wrangling: [pandas](https://agentgid.com/tools/pandas/agent.md)
- Fast local queries: [DuckDB](https://agentgid.com/tools/duckdb/agent.md)
- Dashboard app: [Streamlit](https://agentgid.com/tools/streamlit/agent.md)
- Charts: [Plotly](https://agentgid.com/tools/plotly/agent.md)
- Ask questions in plain English: [Data analyst agent](https://agentgid.com/build/recipes/data-analyst-agent/agent.md)

## Steps

1. Pull indicators from the World Bank API v2 with format=json (no key) and page through the results.
2. Download Our World in Data series by adding .csv to a chart's /grapher/ URL.
3. Load both into DuckDB and join on country code and year.
4. Chart with Plotly in Streamlit; let a data analyst agent answer questions over the tables.

## Watch out

- Credit the World Bank and Our World in Data, and the original provider named in each indicator's metadata.
- Some third-party indicators carry their own restrictions; check the metadata before you redistribute them.
